Today I come across with an interesting issue when I’m using LINE platform to broadcast my message. In the message, I’ve been mentioned one of the brand that using “.” (dot) in the brand name. e.g., ham.co
The issue is, it’s just a name, and there is no website on that brand. So in the message, it generated a link that linked into website called “ham.co” — which is totally off. Sadly the platform didn’t have anyway to prevent a “auto generated link” mechanism.
I still wanna make sure a user who received a message, can easily to read and remember the brand I mentioned as “ham.co” not as something like “ham dot co” or anything. So I come across I searched on internet and found the way that we can use a fake dot instead. ( This one → ․ )
In the end I can send a message that mentioned “ham․co” that read like “ham.co” but didn’t generate any link in the message. Which is great enough for people to remember and type it by themself in SNS.
